Route Instruction and Introduction

(一)The origin of the plan:
After the suspension of the Linkou Line of the Taiwan Railways, a rare corridor space was left. Therefore, the Taoyuan City Government plans to use the corridor space at 0K+960-11K+180 of the Taiwan Railway Linkou Line to provide bicycle lanes and recreational green belts by integrating surrounding related resources to improve the quality of life of residents along the line and achieve urban revitalization and reuse. The goal is to integrate surrounding roads (oil pipelines and Nanmei Street) in the hope of solving the long-standing traffic congestion problem in the Luzhu area.

(二)Program Content:
The Linkou Line of the Taiwan Railways will be implemented in the following sub-tendering and section-by-section manner.:

  1. Priority section (Shanying Road, Guishan District - Chenggong Road, Taoyuan District): The railway right-of-way is narrow (about 8 to 10 meters below), and there are dense residential areas along the line. It passes Taoyuan High School and Hutoushan Scenic Area to improve both sides. Rest and landscape environment, setting up recreational bicycle paths are the main areas. Among them, the No. 1 and No. 2 priority road sections (Section 3 from Shanying Road to Chenggong Road) were completed in October 2018.
  2. The third bid (Taoyuan District Chenggong Road-Guishan District Dakeng Road): The road section is about 5.3 kilometers, mainly to improve the rest and landscape environment on both sides, and to set up recreational bicycle lanes and sidewalks. This project has started in February 2019 and is scheduled to be 109 Completed in June.
  3. The fourth mark (Taoyuan District Jianxing Road - Luzhu District Nanshan Road): The road section is about 3.7 kilometers. This section will be planned for bicycle lanes, and the oil pipeline and Nanmei Street will be widened to 8 meters wide to solve the long-standing problem in Luzhu. regional traffic congestion issues. Construction of this project started in March 2019 and is expected to be completed in June 2020.
