Route Instruction and Introduction

(一)Origin of the plan:
The Taoyuan MRT Phase 2 road network plan report was obtained by the Ministry of Transportation on May 6, 2022. The Taoyuan Zhongli Pingzhen Line and Pingzhen Longtan Line (now integrated into the MRT Orange Line) have been planned as Promote the route in advance to relieve the long-term traffic congestion on Taiwan's first line, and strengthen the underground transportation of Pingzhen Station on the Taiwan Railway.
(二)Plan content:
The MRT Orange Line will connect four administrative districts including Taoyuan, Zhongli, Pingzhen and Longtan, with a total length of approximately 30 kilometers. This plan analyzes the transportation needs of Taoyuan-Zhongli-Pingzhen-Longtan, and takes overall consideration of urban development, mass transportation and traffic planning, terrain along the route, project feasibility, construction cost and financial benefits, and local people's opinions, etc., and proposes Suitable routes and feasible solutions for stations.
Plan handling status
It is currently in the feasibility study stage. The bid for the feasibility study was awarded on January 2, 2013. Relevant data collection and evaluation operations are currently underway, as well as the preparation of an interim feasibility study report, which is expected to be completed in January 2025.
